Welcome to the Cloughjordan Festival 2008 website. This year the festival runs for a full week, from Monday, June 23rd to Sunday June 29th, with drama, workshops, exhibitions, music, dance, and sport. There’s something for almost everyone in this fantastic, family-friendly festival. The festival finale is the picnic, where the entire community will come together to relax, be entertained by local groups and spend time with friends old and new. The final programme has been announced for the Festival. Browse the Programme section for the latest. Exhibitions The Children’s Heritage Competition asked local children to draw or write about ‘Old Ways in Cloughjordan’. Their work will be displayed throughout festival week in the Methodist Hall, Main Street. An Open Exhibition of Painting and Photography will showcase the work of local painters and photographers in the Parochial Hall on the Step Road. Work will be for sale. Entry is open to everyone and costs €3 per artwork. Kids’ Workshops The Kids’ Hip Hop Workshops will be held in St. Kieran’s Hall on Thursday, 26 June and Friday, 27 June for kids 9-11 years and 12 and up. Workshop participants will have a chance to perform at the festival picnic on Sunday, 29 June. Once again the Cloughjordan festival celebrates the many ways of expressing ourselves, through sport, music, drama, film, fine art and just plain fun. Cloughjordan is growing and the festival is growing too. The old and new communities in Cloughjordan are working together to once again bring about a family-friendly festival to celebrate midsummer in the last week of June 2008.
